BitcoinII Core v31.1.0 is out. It is based on Bitcoin Core v31.1 and is the release every node and miner should run.
What’s in it
- ShockWave difficulty adjustment. The difficulty now adjusts every block (in force since block 57,750).
- Replay protection for BC2 transactions.
- Consensus limits on arbitrary data, aimed at inscriptions, Ordinals and Runes, so block space stays focused on payments.
Upgrade now
Releases v29.1.0 and earlier were made before the ShockWave change and can’t follow the current chain. Don’t run them on mainnet.
- Back up your wallet.
- Close the old version completely.
- Install v31.1.0 from the official release page and start it. It uses the same data folder.
Download only from the official GitHub release. The wallet page lists the right file for each operating system.
