Roadmap
Vision and roadmap
Sound, peer-to-peer money with a fair start, and block space kept for payments.
Vision
- Peer-to-peer money. The whitepaper commits to “Bitcoin’s original purpose as a borderless, censorship resistant, inflation proof, responsible monetary system”.
- Fair distribution. No premine. Coins are earned by mining.
- Block space for payments. Resist drift toward non-monetary uses such as large data storage.
- Complement Bitcoin. “Not competition to Bitcoin, but complement: a second option, based on the same protocol.”
- Selective upgrades. Adopt upstream improvements that strengthen BC2 as money and improve security, and decline those that don’t.
Governance
There is no central issuer or foundation. Direction comes from community proposals and input from miners.
Votes are cast on-chain. Each voter broadcasts a transaction carrying their vote and posts the transaction ID for tallying, so anyone can check every vote on the public blockchain. TODO(verify): governance process details, to be confirmed with the lead developer
