Safety
Stay safe
Most crypto losses come from scams and simple mistakes, not hacking. These habits protect you.
Download only from the official release
Get BitcoinII Core only from the official GitHub release page. This website never hosts the software and never links to mirrors. Don’t install wallet software sent to you in a chat or email.
Verify what you download
Compare the file’s SHA-256 checksum with the published one. See how to check a download.
Never share your seed phrase or private keys
- Nobody legitimate will ever ask for them: not support, not moderators, not developers.
- Never type them into a website, form or chat.
- This site has no login, no wallet connection and no forms. It will never ask.
Don’t mix up chains
BC2 addresses look identical to Bitcoin addresses. Always confirm the network before sending. Check which wallet you are using, and never send BTC to a BC2 address or BC2 to a BTC address.
Watch for impersonators
- Official links are in this site’s footer. Bookmark bitcoin-ii.org.
- Be wary of direct messages offering help, giveaways, “airdrops” for BTC holders, or investment returns. BTC holders were never given BC2.
- Nobody can guarantee profits from mining or trading.
